Avengers: Infinity War is only days away, but now that the world premiere has happened, the possibility for spoilers goes up in a big way. Anthony Mackie says that while fans should try to avoid spoilers, it's not the end of the world. Very simple: don't ask questions. Don't read anything. Don't look. And the idea is there is so much in this movie; that even if you get a spoiler, the other 99 percent of the movie is going to blow your mind. To the point that one spoiler, it won't even matter.
Ever since audiences got their first look at Thanos in a post-credits scene of the original Avengers, fans have been waiting to see where the story goes. The build-up has been unreal. The fact that we really have no idea what's going to happen only makes the anticipation that much greater. We all want to know, but we all want to know on our own terms.
More previews of Avengers: Infinity War will be taking place for press and other early audiences over the next few days which will lead to even more people talking about the movie. In a pre-social media world this was fine as it didn't matter if people in New York or L.A. saw the movie if you lived elsewhere, but today one wrong look at Twitter can reveal something you wish you hadn't known going in.
As Mackie says, the only way to be sure you don't see a spoiler is to not look at all. However, he's probably right that the movie is so big that no one spoiler can ruin it. There are so many characters in the movie that even if you learned the fate of one of them before the movie, there are still dozens more whose final state at the end would remain a mystery. Just because one spoiler might not ruin the movie doesn't mean we shouldn't all do our part to help everybody enjoy Avengers: Infinity War without spoilers.
